Release Date: 6/9/2009 Headline: BD to Establish Operations in Mebane The Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce announces today that BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) has purchased the building at 1022 Corporate Park Drive and an adjacent seven acres in the North Carolina Industrial Park located in Mebane, NC for a new manufacturing facility. When fully operational, the Mebane facility will employ 40 individuals, of which 20 will be new jobs for Alamance County. The location will be dedicated to the manufacture of laboratory instrumentation used in diagnosing cancer. This facility represents an approximate $20 million investment in the 100,852-square-foot plant, land, equipment and technology, and is expected to begin operations later in 2009.
