Tri Vantage, the distribution subsidiary for Glen Raven, a global provider of innovative fabric-based solutions serving awning, marine, furniture, automotive and military markets worldwide, broke ground in Mebane, NC for its new distribution facility. The new, 100,000-square-foot facility will be located in the North Carolina Industrial Center and will employ 35 individuals when complete.
“This new facility will strengthen our operational controls and increase the efficiency of operations by consolidating inventories, support services and systems,” said Steve Ellington, president of Tri Vantage. “The result will be improved product availability to customers who rely on us for fast delivery of a vast and continually growing array of technical products.”
Glen Raven officials conducted a confidential search for the new center through a site location consultant. The consultant conducted a network analysis for the company and identified various east coast locations, including AlamanceCounty.
“This project is a great fit for the park. This facility, like others in the park, will serve a large geographic footprint, in this case, the North American market. Such a project validates Alamance County and Mebane as a great location for operations sensitive to transportation and logistics concerns. Successful economic development is a team sport and credit must also go to the Alamance County Commissioners and City of Mebane Council for their support as well as to Samet Corporation for a competitive real estate proposal,” states Mac Williams, President of the Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce.
